This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on the mineskin.pro website and in the MineSkin PRO apps for iOS and Android, what each one is for, and how you can control them. MineSkin PRO is run by Hamza Khuswan, a sole trader in Sweden ("we", "us", "our"). Our full contact details are in the Terms of Use.

What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage, session storage and IndexedDB are other ways for a website or app to store data on your device. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.

Essential cookies are needed for the Service to work or to do something you asked for, such as keeping you signed in. They don't need your consent. Analytics cookies help us understand how the Service is used. We use them only if you agree.

We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't let anyone use our cookies to track you for advertising.

Essential Cookies and Storage

Cookies

ms_session: keeps you signed in on the website. It holds a random sign-in token and can't be read by scripts on the page. It lasts 30 days, and is deleted when you sign out or delete your account. Set only if you sign in.
NEXT_LOCALE: remembers the language you chose. It lasts 1 year.

Storage on Your Device

Your skins and library (IndexedDB MineskinSkin): the skins, folders and reference images you create in the editor. They stay on your device until you delete them or clear your browser or app data. We don't receive them unless you sync them with PRO.
Your synced copy (IndexedDB MineskinSync): if you are signed in, a copy of your synced and shared skins, so they work offline and sync faster.
Sign-in in the apps (local storage ms_auth_token): in the iOS and Android apps, the sign-in token that keeps you signed in. It is deleted when you sign out.
Your cookie choice (local storage cookie-preferences and consent-popup): remembers whether you accepted analytics cookies, so we don't ask again.
Your settings and editor state (local storage): for example your theme, language, editor settings, the skin you were editing, panel sizes, how your library is sorted, and onboarding progress.
Messages you have dismissed (local storage): remembers which banners, tips and install prompts you have closed, so we don't show them again.
Visit counters (local storage mineskin-visit-count, mineskin-last-page, pwa_standalone_first_logged, native_first_open_sent): how many times you have visited and the last section of the app you used, so install prompts appear at the right time, and whether the installed app's first opening has already been counted, so it isn't counted twice. These stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Short-lived session storage: remembers, until you close the tab, that the app has already handled the link you opened it with, and caches the star count of our GitHub project.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used, for example which pages are visited and which features are popular. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets:

_ga: tells visitors apart. It lasts 2 years.
_ga_<ID>: keeps track of your current visit. It lasts 2 years.

These cookies are set on mineskin.pro, but the data they collect is sent to Google. Read more in Google's explanation of how Google Analytics uses cookies.

If you don't accept, Google Analytics sets no cookies. It may still receive basic, cookieless signals without any identifier for you, which Google uses only to estimate overall traffic. Advertising features are turned off in either case.

Analytics and Error Monitoring Without Cookies

Vercel Analytics counts page views in aggregate. It uses no cookies and doesn't store anything on your device.
Sentry helps us find and fix errors. It uses no cookies. When an error happens, it keeps a short replay of the page in session storage, which is deleted when you close the tab. See the Privacy Policy for what Sentry collects.

Cookies Set by Other Companies

Some features open pages from other companies, which set their own cookies under their own policies:

Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple, when you use them to sign in. See Google's and Apple's policies.
Stripe, on its checkout and subscription management pages, when you subscribe to PRO or manage your subscription on the web. See Stripe's cookie policy.

Your Choices

Analytics cookies. When you first visit the website, or first open the app, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. No analytics cookies are set before you choose. To change your choice later, clear the website data for mineskin.pro in your browser settings, or the app's data on your device. We will then ask you again. Clearing this data also deletes skins you saved only in this browser or app, so export them as PNG files first.

Your browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, some features stop working, for example staying signed in.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics on all websites with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

Changes to This Policy

We update this Cookie Policy when the cookies we use change. We post the new version here and update the date at the top.
